Book of the Day secret codes[resolved]

Post by Kaitlyn Wadsworth »

I have just realized after three days of starting that if a secret code from an email is placed in a particular place on the Book of the Day page there is a bonus point. However, I can't find the code. Maybe it is because I am new and don't qualify for bonus points? Maybe it is simply stated to drive a new person nuts trying to find it? Has anyone else had a problem. I only found out about it today. If I don't qualify I'm wondering why I even saw the offer. But I am happy to say that the review book download and opening (this has been a nightmare) has been solved. Posting, reading and reviewing, and Book of the Day. I think it will become easier from now on. Phew.

Hi Kaitlyn,
The secret code is sent in the BOTD email. I'll share the screenshot. Its different for everyone, so you'll see your special code in the BOTD email you get.

I used to type the secret code. But I soon learnt that if I click on the link above the code and press enter when asked if I want to Participate, it will automatically get entered in the secret code box.
This was a trick that took me a year to learn, all on my own.😅🤠
I know it can be hard to navigate, but it is easy once you get familiar with it.

I'm sorry but the only email I receive about the book of the day is a reminder to enter it before it is too late. No secret code is on it at all and I have looked carefully. I have also queried this with Scott and forwarded him an email reminder of mine to see if the code is there and has been overlooked by me. It would be helpful to alert new readers to the placement of the bonus code. Please check that the emails about Book of the Day are being sent to 383Kaitlynw@gmail.com. The reminders is all I have received.

I have so far started off commenting about book of the day in the wrong places and missing out on posts for the tally.
Made posts other places which are not on the tally either. Had replies to one but the points have still not appeared on the tally.

A helpful list on where exactly to make qualifying posts for new readers is a suggestion.

As for a poor member taking a year to learn a time saving tip all on his own! Shame on the lack of assistance about this time saving tip. However, if I could find the codes on the emails which I can't find in my inbox I will be happy to type them in any time.

The latest is that my comment on todays book can't go in for a point to be awarded because I haven't tallied up enough points. This should be a post?

LOL Thank you so much. Rectified the situation by placing Book of the day in the search bar and this brings it up. Impossible to find otherwise. One problem solved.

This is still about the secret codes. Have had no further problem with secret codes and earning an extra point with them in BOTD. Except today. I am in the Southern Hemisphere and it is the 5th but my calendar says it is the 6th July. The secret code would not transfer into place and even when I typed it in it would not enter. I tried it several times. What on earth was going on. I still have over 6 hrs to go before the end of the day so I am not too late.

Hi there,

And thank you for reaching out. I am very sorry for the delay in answering your question. I am following up on this; has this issue already been resolved? If not, please upload a series of screenshots describing the problem; that would allow me to assist you further.

Let me know if there's anything I can do for you.

Thank you, and have a good day,
Kirsi
