Then, in my teen years, it was Sylvia Plath.
Then poetry suddenly left my life ...
until I recently discovered Shel Silverstein and Dr.Seuss.
And I fall in love again.

Having said that, my favourite poem overall would have to be ‘TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN’, or ‘TELL ME LIES ABOUT VIETNAM’, by Adrian Mitchell. I was deeply touched by its powerful message, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who hasn’t read it. It was incredible. It never fails to send shivers down me. You can hear the poet perform it on YouTube. It’s worth a listen, but also a read, as it builds up and the words are pretty powerful on the page.
