This is endearing and very funny story of children and their pets.
Nico is a show-off. He loves performing for Kim and her friends.
In the summer holidays Nico is left alone all day long so Kim and
her mother decide to take him to work at the train station. Nico
now has an even bigger audience. But then he sees Kim getting
onto the train all by herself! 'Wah! Crikey!' shrieks Nico as he flies
after her. But it is not Kim

This is interesting and engaging, definitely a book I will recommend to parents to read to their kids. It truly is important that they learn from a young age that they have to care for animals. Thanks for a great review. Congrats on BOTD.

There's more focus on teaching empathy in children's books. In NICO, a heartwarming story about a forgotten pet could provide this moral lesson. Go ahead and engage with your child and discuss the new details and values mentioned in the book, i.e Teaching children to take care of their pets. There's some educational info about this bird's breed at the end of the book, which could expand children's knowledge about animals. Great bedtime story book

It is good to read that the author combines a gripping narration with colourful illustrations in the book. The fact that the story is both entertaining and adds value to the child is fascinating, and I am certain that it will indeed be very helpful.

When a book is colorful and presents an interesting and educational story for kids, it's almost impossible not to like it. The vibrant visuals captivate children's attention, making them eager to learn more. I find such books intriguing as well. They beautifully capture the way kids enjoy a simple, good story. I’m excited to read it! Thanks for the great review, it was fun reading this piece. Congratulations to the author on BOTD.

A beautiful review of "NICO" by Marlene Rattigan.
I love the educational message this book conveys in a well-balanced yet delightful way.
Understanding and caring for our pets is an integral value, and this book cultivates such awareness at a young age through the experiences of Kim and her family. Engaging with this plot influences our understanding and compassion for Nico, the bird while also adding some interesting information about his breed in the end. I believe the information about the breed is a nifty way to engage young minds to explore bird species a tad bit further. We see birds every day. How often do we ( even as adults) take the time to identify and understand the value or possible interactions of bird breeds in relation to our human existence?

Great review of the children’s book, "NICO" by Marlene Rattigan. The story is instructional and sounds interesting to children and adults alike. There is a section at the end of the story that talks about the particular type of bird the story is about. There were no editing mistakes in the book and the illustrations were very vivid!

I love the fact that NICO provides both value and entertainment to the children as they learn the different kinds of birds.

Nico sounds like a fascinating bird, who can sing, dance and talk. It is good for kids to have pets and learn how to take care of them. Colorful illustrations make kids' books come to life. This seems to be a great addition to a children's library. Thank you for the informative review.

Why did Kim and her mom go on summer vacation and spend a lot of time away from the house without Nico? I'll also like to know what happened when Nico became sad and lonely.
