What relationship do our children have with God? How frequently do we remind our children to fellowship with God, our creator? You Are So Loved by Natalie James is a children’s book emphasizing God’s love for little children. The author describes the various ways God manifests Himself in children’s lives and how His presence always ensures their safety.

Natalie discusses that children do not need to do anything to gain God’s love. This is because His unconditional love surpasses all their shortcomings and does not rely on their strengths. God gave everyone the liberty to worship Him, but He does not force anyone to do so. By sending His son, Jesus Christ, God manifested His ultimate love and desire to save humankind from eternal condemnation.

The author has included colorful illustrations in this book to complement the discussions. Each page features words in various colors and sizes, enhancing the book’s aesthetic appeal. This will attract children’s attention and provoke them to actively engage in their reading experiences by identifying what some of the illustrations symbolize.

The inclusion of biblical verses in this book authenticates Natalie’s arguments, providing a source of reference for older kids to read. Furthermore, this inclusion will encourage children to conduct extensive research when they open their Bibles to learn more about God’s boundless love. The author also continuously asks rhetorical questions about how much kids think God loves them. This is what I liked the most about this book. By repeatedly inserting the question in several sections, the author ensures children will reflect on God’s manifestation in their lives and follow through with the author’s explanations.

There is nothing I liked the least about this book. The book is devoid of any grammatical errors, indicating exceptional editing. In addition to rating it five out of five stars, I recommend it to children between the ages of four and nine. Younger children may need the assistance of their parents or guardians to experience the insights shared about God’s love fully.
