Lusty Love

Post by Lavenda Achieng 2 »

She met a man,
He winked, she smiled,
He smiled, it touched her heart,
For a moment she felt wild,
Heart leaping as every heart can,
The feeling lovelier than when she sees a rat.
Treading bashfully, as would a child.

He's got taste in recalcitrant,
She's stubborn but more reticent,
Aggressive but always true-blue,
Longing to let lose, but always hesitant,
But though a disadvantage, It's iridescent,
Signs of strength, but yet her Waterloo.

Slowly looking for love, in the right place maybe,
Crossing her fingers that friends turn to lovers,
And that attraction is coupled with connection,
A happily ever after, a family portrait, a baby;
But one can't 'scape reality as it always hovers.

What does a girl need to do for love?
Profess it, not loud enough,
Show it, it either too dark or too bright,
Maybe keep it inside and like a secret shove,
For what is love, if for the heart it isn't 'nuff?
For in a fight between heart and brain, none is bright.
