It's a children's book but adult me couldn't put it down. Chuck seems like such a brilliant character.

The BOTD has an amazing looking cover ,and from the review, sounds like a great fantasy adventure,I am not a fan of fantasy books but this one seems like it would be an interesting read , especially because the themes of friendship, courage and self discovery are intricately woven in the story. I would recommend the book for younger readers and those who love adventure.

There is nothing more true than the statement “ only a handful of tales can whisk readers away to a realm of marvel and amazement, all while delving into the complexities of human existence”. To create a fantastic world full of real elements is an art. The reader can gain insight into the depth of humanity while being elevated by the wings of the supernatural.

**Review of Lainey Miles's *The Lost Forest Trilogy: Legacy of the Golden Bird***

This is a great Enchanting and Immersive Fantasy Novel by Lainey Miles, blending fantasy, mystery, and traditional world building. Set in a world where myth and magic entwine with nature, the story follows the protagonist, a young woman named Elara, who embarks on a perilous journey to uncover the secrets of a long-lost forest that holds the key to her past—and perhaps the future of her world.

Almost from the very first pages, Miles plunges readers into a colorful, lush world. The forest itself is almost a character in its own right: ancient trees, secret paths, and forgotten magic abound within it. The author described it quite vividly and was full of lush colors, drawing pictures of a natural world that was, at once, breathtaking and full of secrets. This setting, as much as the characters, drives the narrative, providing a rich backdrop for the unfolding events.

Elara is a fine balance of strength and vulnerability. She plays the role of the character who starts relatively modest compared to what she discovers about the forest and hidden strengths in herself. Relationships add meaning and emotional value to this story-it's not about traveling in actuality but about self-discovery.

The plot itself is an interesting mix of mystery and adventure. At the core, this harks to the legacy of the Golden Bird, powerful and mysterious, attached to the forest mysteries. It is tension between motives in characters, magic, and the ever-present threats that puts human and supernatural forces on the same footing as to what makes you keep going through the pace. Miles is adept at level building in terms of intrigue and myth, such that he sets up good twists and revelations that will keep them reading on edge.

Of course, the world-building and the character developments are surely some of the novel's great strengths, but sometimes, *Legacy of the Golden Bird* is caught in a pace. Sometimes the narrative slows down as much as due to the detailed exposition on the history and lore of the world; it is these slowdowns that are largely offset by action-packed sequences and great interactions between characters.

Altogether, *The Lost Forest Trilogy: Legacy of the Golden Bird* is a good start to a series that will, likely enough give more depth and suspense in itself as the story unfolds. It is a finely layered world that Lainey Miles has created, and certainly worth keeping track of Elara on her travels. Epic fantasy fans, who enjoy suspense, mystery and magic will find themselves enjoying much here.

For some reason, Berra, a mysterious bird, attracts me most in the story; Berra seems to represent that trigger in everyone's life--it feels as if Berra embodies optimism, hope, change. Can't wait to start reading this book.

I'm interested in this 'trilogy that primarily focuses on the adventure of Sir Charles John McDaniel, also known as Chuck, a renowned fighter and an amazing architect, as he travels through a dangerous world divided by power conflicts and age-old enmities.'

:techie-studyingbrown: It is a great reading, and Lainey Miles did a phenomenal job of taking you on a journey through The Dark Forest. It is a fantasy with medieval friendship bonds towards a common goal. Friends ranging from mystical creatures to birds as allies.

I am always interested in fantasy books, ever since I was a little girl I have joined countless characters on their adventures. This book seems to be an incredible story, a tale of brave characters and epic adventures. Chuck is one of the few characters that is not only a fighter, and a brave person but also an architect, a characteristic so unusual in fictional books that I cannot wait to discover how it plays on his adventure towards creating a new life.
