"A Curate in Love" by Richard Hughes follows Newly ordained curate Richard navigates love with atheist Ann, family disapproval, and the traditional, demanding environment of Mold Parish Church, where the previous curate left after a week.

The reviewer makes it quite clear that inspite of being presented as a Romance book, it has much more theological history than a love story.. In that niche though, it seems like a decent book, definitely worth checking out, but it isnt for me

'One is that the pacing was too slow. The second reason is the vocabulary used. These two combined made the book difficult to read.'
I hope this doesn't affect me much because I'm interested in Richard and his work as an assistant curate of Mold.

Definitely not my cup of tea on so many counts that it's not even funny. Even without taking into consideration obvious flaws mentioned in the review, I would like to say that I don't like memoirs, am not religious and am not interested in anything church related. Sorry, I will have to skip this book, but congrats with BOTD, anyway!

As the assistant Curate of Mold found out, as a Christian, the tribulations in this life never cease. I am sure this was an intriguing time for Richard, balancing his love for his career, life, and Lady Ann. The Christian history is beneficial, especially for those who love such content. Congratulations to the author on BOTD. Thanks for an honest review.

"A Curate in Love" by Richard Hughes will definitely be adventurous in spite of the grading. It should give a first hand insight into how curators operate. Congrats on being BOTD. Nice review.

The sample was a little difficult to read as I do not have a strong religious background so the authors reference to certain things, I had a difficult time following. I also thought it was a love story, but according to the review it wasn't. I will not be downloading a copy but someone with a strong religious background might enjoy it. Thank you for the review.

"A Curate in Love" by Richard Hughes is a memoir that explores the author's life as a curate, his romance, and Christian history. Although it's educational and engaging, the slow pace and complex vocabulary detract from the reading experience. 3/5 stars!

A sweet and honest story about faith, love, and challenges, showing how life can be full of surprises and lessons. Richard was really an interesting personality.

This review is very clear, thoughtful, and balanced.
The reviewer has not only summarized the key events and themes of the book concisely but has also shared their personal feelings and experiences, making the review even more impactful. Both the positive and negative aspects have been highlighted fairly,
helping readers decide whether this book is suitable for them or not.
The criticisms regarding the complexity of language and slow pace are also presented logically, making the review appear objective and credible.
Overall, this is an excellent review that serves as a valuable guide for book lovers.

The contrast between Richard's faith and his love interest, Ann, adds a compelling layer to the narrative. While the title may be somewhat misleading, the book still offers valuable insights for those interested in Christian history and the struggles of spiritual commitment. Congratulations on being the BOTD!

"A Curate in Love" by Richard Hughes is the author's memoir in which he recalls his time as assistant curate of Mold. It is Mold parish church and the book follows Richard and his efforts to overcome hurdles. The book is interesting and slow-paced.

Thank you for your review. I read the sample. I wished Ann was part of the book from the first, as the story was a bit slow. It was sad that Richard entered the clergy only because of his father's wishes. He is a gentle person with a nice personality. Like Ann said, and I agree that he could do better.
