Lee Cherry you did a nice work here. This book is a great tool for teaching children about diversity and the importance of looking beyond superficial differences.

Today's BOTD is a children's book about a special friendship shared by Grover, a donkey, and Steve, an ostrich. Filled with life lessons and positive messages about acceptance toward those different than us, young children and their parents will not only find this educational, but also engaging. Sounds like a great read! Thank you so much for your helpful review! :-)

I really enjoyed reading your review of The Unique Friendship of Grover and Steve! You did a great job highlighting the central themes of friendship, identity, and standing up against bigotry, which seem like important lessons for young readers. I particularly liked your mention of how the book encourages children to embrace differences and remain true to their values, even when faced with mockery or isolation.

Your critique of the illustrations and the defense scene was insightful. I can see how clearer, richer artwork would enhance the reading experience for children. I also agree that having more dangerous animals involved in the defense, or giving Grover and Steve special abilities, could have made that part of the story more convincing. That said, it’s great to hear that the book was well-edited and easy to read.

Overall, your review makes this book sound like a valuable read for kids, especially in today’s world where acceptance and individuality are so important. Thanks for sharing such a detailed and balanced perspective!

Thank you for your insightful review. I love the theme and moral lesson from the story. I agree that children's books need good graphics to complement the story. Although the art style might not impress some young readers, it's still a great book about an outstanding friendship.

I mentioned unwinding with children's books earlier, but I don't think that involves children's fables. Conversely, my little brother actually do enjoy them. So I am trying to pick one to gift him on his birthday. This and the last children story I commented on.
And in truth, those factors you mentioned could affect the rating of the book;especially the poorly developed part plot so I hope the author works on that soon.
Congrats on BOTD.

Unfortunately, this book is definitely not my cup of tea, since I am not in a habit of reading Children's Books. It would have been different if my own kids weren't all grown up already, but as it is, I won't make an exception even for a story that teaches tolerance and the meaning of true friendship.

This book is about friendship between Grover the donkey and Steve the ostrich, who face challenges and bullying but still stick together. I want to read it to see how they overcome everything.

The storytelling is great in the introduction to the 'Official Review: The Unique Friendship of Grover and Steve' by Lee Cherry. It thoroughly analyses the author's work. This is the story of a friendship between a donkey and an ostrich. The book criticizes any form of bigotry, encourages respect for other people's identities, and celebrates the beauty of being courageous enough to walk alone. It explores great values.

Thank you for your wonderful review. I'm glad for the most part you enjoyed the book. I enjoy children's books and extra points for those with life lessons and animals in them. That is great the editing was done so well. These are lessons that not only children but also, adults could learn a lot from. I have added it to my list of books to read.

The sample on Amazon didn't get further than the dedication so I was unable to read any of the book/ However, the themes covered about racism, bigotry, body structure, and gender are very much needed to be addressed even for young kids of 6 to 8 that you suggest reading this book. i applaud the author and illustrator for presenting these topics in an educational yet entertaining way.
