True crime books often have a color scheme of red, black, and white or silver. If you visit a new library or bookstore, look around the bookshelves until you see spines that are in the black, red, and white or silver colors and that's the true crime section. It does not surprise me that this murder mystery has a similar color scheme. The missing passenger with the female driver draws me in as the reader.

A little odd for its genre but nice overall. Would definitely catch my eye but not in the way it should.

I thought the cover concept was misleading in the sense that it made you believe that the story would involve romance and relationships. The illustration of the big red heart itself would connote or imply love and affection, connectivity and giving. Of course, I was mistaken. "Bless your heart," is a murder mystery/thriller.

I thought it was interesting, but it gave more "romance" vibes than "thriller" vibes at first glance. I liked the color scheme and the leaves (referencing the deadly arboretum in the book) were a nice touch. Pretty solid but not the best book of the month cover we've seen I think.
