The book has to be VERY boring for me to skip anything, but I do it occassionally.

No, I have never done this, I would be afraid of missing something if I didn't read it all.

I'm often tempted to, especially if the author is droning on for pages about a room description. But I try not to, because I'm afraid the skipped part may contain some nugget of pertinent information I may need to know down the road to make sense of the story.

I skip and dip if a book is boring but I think it might pick up later. The busier I get, the more I find myself doing this.

I have to say that I would never think to skip pages. It would feel like I were missing something important. It would just feel like I couldn't say that I read the entire book and that matters to me.

No. Never. That would be like ordering potato salad and then picking out all the celery pieces and throwing them on the floor when no one is looking. Why did you order potato salad in the first place if you are going to do that? Order something you want to eat .... errrrr .... READ ... just the way it is and then read all of it. Don't leave any pages on your plate malime6 or you will not get desert!!!

I like to read every word in a great book. If you skip around, you can lose the storyline and then what good is it. I enjoy reading enough to respect the story and follow the story by not skipping pages.

Never. If you skip sections, you're not reading it. Do yourself and the author a favour and read it properly or set it aside and thoroughly read something else.

I dont skip...if I do it feels like cheating and I dont like that. If I notice the urge to skip pages I would rather stop and return the book if it belongs to someone or put it back on the shelf till another season.

When it gets a bit boring, I skim the pages, but I can't skip pages without feeling guilty and having to go back to those pages.

Yes, if the author is droning on with flowery descriptions.

My mom skips pages all the time while reading. I just can't make myself do that. I have to read every page. Especially when I am reading Tom Clancy. There is so much going on that you can't afford to skip any pages. Why read a book if you are going to skip parts of it. It is like going to a movie and skipping the first 15 minutes. NO sense to me.
