Do you prefer reading or watching Sci-Fi?

I actually watch much more science fiction than I read. I think this has more to do with the fact that I was first introduced to the scifi genre this way (I grew up on Star Trek: TNG as a kid) while I was more inclined to read in the horror and fantasy genres. I do love the visual spectacle even though I consider myself a very imaginative person. So many attempts at reading in the scifi genre has resulted in me putting the book down because of it's highly technical nature or more often, the dryness inherent in the writing style...

Hmmmm....I will go with reading, though I love to watch! But not as much as reading.. So theres a part of my world that reading any book expands...So with Sci Fi, I can connect with it in my own way...

It depends. I love both but they're different experiences. I think watching Star Trek made me love sci fi though so there's certainly a root for me in watching over reading for the genre.

I prefer watching sci-fi because too much of the sci-fi I have read has been overly dry, tedious, and descriptive of technology instead of the thoughts and feelings of the characters. Love reading other genres though!

I like them both. When watching, the video-effects clarifies on the authors purpose, concept and theme. On the other hand, reading helps the readers exercise vast imagination.

I don't really enjoy sci-fi but when I do, I prefer reading because my imagination will not be restricted to what the directors and producers of a movie have set in motion. I like it when things are realistic so my imagination for sci-fi when reading is toned down to what can actually exist in reality. If I cannot seem to form any mental images for the book, I however wait for the movie to be produced, that is if I am that interested in the story.

I love to do both like many people apparently. I don't watch much t.v. but when I do it most likely falls in this category. I read what ever I get my hands so dealing with jargon for every genre is something I have gotten use to.

I used to prefer watching it (I grew up on Star Trek), but in recent years I have been enjoying reading it much more than I used to. There was a time when I wouldn't even pick up a book if it was labeled as sci-fi!

I definitely like both. And usually, the book, if there is one, is even better than the movie or the series, but I guess I like both.

Both, but it's really hard to find truly great sci-fi books. The cinema and digital market are oversaturated with Science Fiction, but the literary world is kinda struggling in my opinion. It seems that every great 'sci-fi' book nowadays is just a glorified love triangle in space.

For me i prefer Watching sci fi because it is easier to understand the authors world.

I generally prefer reading. But if they have done a good job of directing it, the action scenes would feel much more real. So, I guess I would go for watching Sci-Fi when possible.

I prefer watching, a whole book can be experienced in less than 2 hours. Despite Sci-fi being my favorite genre, their books tend to be quite large >700 pages it would take me weeks with my schedule.
