Favorite Funny Author?

I stumbled on a book several years ago called Fondling Your Muse by John Warner. I believe it was given to me as a gift simply because it was a book for authors and I was aspiring to write children's books. I don't even think I intended to read it but randomly picked it up one day and glanced through it. I could not put it down! It was so hilarious! Even now, years later, the book has stuck with me as one of the funniest things I've ever read.

One of my favorite authors is Christopher Moore, his book The lust lizard of Melancholy Cove is my favorite. The description of a scene when the lizard is enamored with what he thinks is another creature is so humorous I was laughing out loud alone in my room. I raised a few family eye brows but enjoyed it so much.

Two big favorites that come to mind are Miguel de Cervantes (Don Quixote), and John Kennedy Toole (A Confederacy Of Dunces).

Meg Cabot and Sophie Kinsella.. Both are from the same genre, and somehow they both manage to crack me up, even after..no, especially after a strenuous day!

He wrote the series that starts with I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell.

The latest author I've found for keeps in my 'treasure trove' of wit and satire is Greg Gutfeld. His latest book, Gutfeld Monologues is a must have for my reading pleasure. I can tell what a good entertainment is when I see one. And Gutfeld's sharp kind of wit and humour is good for the spirit (and the mind who gets it) as we would believe in, "laughter is good medicine."

Andrew Klavan is another award-winning author whom I find very tastefully funny in his talk shows. He's a political satirist, as well. Clever guy.

Janet Evanovich is great for a laugh. And her books tend toward the crime/mystery genre. I've snorted over her.

Christopher Moore is also hysterical. He is more into fantasy/horror, so it's a different type of book, but he is raunchy sometimes. Enjoy!

The first author to really have me laughing so hard I had to take breaks from reading was Christopher Moore with his book Lamb. I have yet to circle back to try any of his other novels, but I would highly recommend him.
