Of course! How else would someone know what a book is about or if its worth buying.

Rarely. Even when I do, I try to read them as sparingly as possible so as not to spoil anything. Even the covers give away too much information for my taste and I enjoy the surprises and figuring the story out for myself. For the most part, I simply scan the descriptions for the word "erotic" so as not to involve myself in a genre I personally do not enjoy.

I just like reading the cover. Lol, if it's on the front it must be important.

Yes, I sure do. I also judge the book by it's cover.

If I am extremely excited about a book, whether it's from having a great opinion of the author or just the overall hype surrounding the book, I do not read the cover. I always feel that, though a short synopsis, the cover still gives away something about the book that I prefer finding out on my own. May seem weird to some ...but I like the mystery of getting a book sometimes and not knowing anything about what it's about

Not really, I just read the summary on the back cover.

Yes, I usually read the back cover with it's summary. I also read some reviews of the book, it's author's page and I look for some of the other books that the author might have written.

I read every bit of a book, front cover, back cover, Copyright detail, dedications, index, author bio etc etc
My pet peeve with e-books is that they open at Chapter 1 (that's not the beginning of a book!) - the start of the journey of reading a book begins with the front cover. Bloody hell you wouldn't start to drive a car by attempting to jump in a mile down the road so why do they think I want to jump into my book 4 or 5 pages in?

I do the same. :D

Regarding ebooks, I always start with the cover and go backward if needed.

Yes I read book covers. The quotes, outlines and recommendations on the back of books help me to decide if I want to read them.

Absolutely, I have to have an idea of what the book is about before I choose it. If the cover doesn't entice me, I put the book back on the shelf. Oddly, a second look (usually weeks or months later) may convince me to try it.

It depends on the book, but generally I do.
