Not at all. I was able to read a sample of the book and I was intrigued. I’ve always liked books that has to do with the time before things get this changed.

I didn't read the reviews. The sample review helped me make the informed decision which I needed to make. I've always been a fan of historical fiction so one I saw the setting and subject matter I knew it was a book that deserves to be purchased.

Yes, some of the OBC reviews I’ve read made me want to read the book. I really like the story’s plot. The reviews highlighted some interesting twists that caught my attention, so I am excited to check it out.

When I was given the opportunity to review the book, I had to check it out on Amazon before I bought it. The reviews I saw there piqued my interest and made want to read it, so I bought the book.

Absolutely. I initially read some of the book's reviews on Amazon and I was intrigued by the plot but at the same time scared by the negative aspects that were reported.

I didn't read reviews before I read the book because I was going to do a review. I did read them after I submitted the review and was surprised by how differently many of us felt about the book. After the first chapters I really didn't like it very much. But it seems that most readers did like the book.

The reviews were quite intriguing enough that one would want to know what happens next and what became of the characters.

I approached this book with a rather neutral mindset, having deliberately avoided reading any reviews or spoilers beforehand. My curiosity was solely piqued by the title, which resonated with me and sparked my interest. Without any preconceived notions or expectations, I dove into the book with an open mind, allowing the story to unfold and capture my attention on its own merit.

To me, it was more of what the story was about than the reviews. Reviews do play their role in my decision-making process, but the storyline, or in movies, the "trailer", is the main thing I go by when deciding on what to read.

I stumbled on some bunch of reviews about this book on Goodreads and I was utterly discouraged. I had already selected the book for review and so I was left with no choice.

Initially yes, then I regretfully learned the reviews I read did not give me the information to determine I would not like this book. This book seems to be well-liked and have a strong plotline and genre choice. However, not everyone will like a book, even if the majority do as most book readers are aware. In all, I'm grateful we all have freedom of speech and choice.

Yes, the reviews of Deceptive Calm by Patricia Skipper made me want to read it especially because I wanted to know more about sister Rosalie, Vanessa and Tricia. I love the beautiful friendship which Vanessa and Tricia shared, it’s the kind that anyone would love to have and experience.
