Lazarus, vol 1: Family by Greg Rucka

Post by Gravy »

I didn't expect to be giving this four stars. I was pretty sure I'd enjoy it, but I didn't assume I would love it. I loved it.

Forever "Eve" Carlyle is the Lazarus for Family Carlyle. "Families" are the ruling class, and if you aren't of use to them, they'd prefer you not exist.
Forever believes herself to be one of the Carlyle siblings, she's their sword and shield, their loaded gun, and she does what is asked of her, but how long can the facade of the family last?

I absolutely love the storyline, and the distopian world Forever lives in. The artwork is nice, and at times even beautiful, despite the level of violence (and there is quite a bit of violence).
Forever is just about the most likable genetically engineered killer you could ask for

This is not something for sensitive readers. There is violence, strong language, and inappropriate sibling behavior...however, it's still fairly mild.

If you're looking for a series with a kick-as.....hmhmmm-butt heroine, look no further, cause Forever Carlyle's right here 8)

I love some of the artwork n this series. Here's an example:Image

I'm hopelessly hooked!
Pronouns: She/Her

What is grief, if not love persevering?

Grief is just love with no place to go.
