New to SciFi

Post by HarpreetKG »

I've just started reading the Foundation series by Isaac Asimov and am completely loving it. Could anyone give me any suggestions for other SciFi books that are similar to this series? I'm new to this field and would love to read more.

i thought foundation was kind of unique. there are paler imitations of asimov that i find too "space-opera". but maybe you can try some of jack vance's stuff - has empire-like worlds in some novels that remind me of asimov's foundation world. and i find vance's writing style great.
alternatively, you can find far-out ideas in stephen baxter's time/space/origin trilogy. anyone else have ideas?

Dune by Frank Herbert
The Memory of Earth by Orson Scott Card

*"Dune" is usually held as one of the GREATEST SF books of all time and rightfully so!!! Huge to get into, but check it out.

My friend also told me about Dune, but I had no time to read it. Hope to enjoy it soon.

"Dune." It is dense, but it is so worth it.
